Welcome!
Hi, I'm Abbey. The mom behind this photography business, this website, and this little corner of the internet.
Mom of three girls. Wife. Big Jesus fan!
I want to start by saying I've had at least eight or nine blogs in my life. Also a myspace page. And a xanga (you're a real one if you had one too). So this is not new territory for me! But I have never felt more called to do something than I do right now.
I have always been a writer. Long before I ever picked up a camera I had a pen and a composition notebook and I was writing stories from my bunk bed in elementary school. My journal had every thought I ever had starting in second grade, which is honestly pretty entertaining to look back on. (Side note, if you need a full recap of every Phillies season dating back to 1997 I have it documented somewhere!)
I just really loved telling stories. Fiction or my own.
So when I got my first camera, or rather when I stole my mom's digital camera in 2002, it just made sense that I would try to tell stories through photographs too. And it makes sense that after I wrote my last short story in 2007 I traded in my notebook for my first DSLR.
I spent years studying and perfecting editing. But it was always the story behind the photo that captivated me most.
I started my business in 2020. Long before I became a mom. When it was just a dream and a whole lot of hope.
So I told everybody else's stories until I felt comfortable enough to tell my own. And along the way I met the most incredible women!
And I didn't feel so alone anymore.
Two years of infertility. A loss in the middle of it all. And then three miracle pregnancies later. I've learned that we really cannot do this alone.
Life. Motherhood. Any of it.
Women need other women.
So while my camera is my vessel to tell your story, the real story happens behind the lens. In the conversations we have while your kids run around. In the planning emails. In my DMs at 11pm. In the texts that have nothing to do with photos at all.
We might never meet in person or in front of my camera. But your story matters to me. And our stories together matter even more.
So I hope this blog becomes a safe place. For my thoughts on motherhood and postpartum and everything that falls in between. And I hope something here makes you feel a little less alone.
Hi. I'm Abbey. Chronic oversharer. And I just really wanna be friends!
